Excitement for live streaming from mobile phones

Live video streaming from the mobile phone is normal for me. Yesterday for example I was streaming from the boat as the Croisière de l’espoir came back into port. Jose Castillo and Tim Siglin talk about highlights from Streaming Media East in New York, including AT&T’s re-emergence as a CDN, a jaw-dropping mobile video webcasting demo by Steve Garfield, and interviews with show attendees. mp3 source Interesting to listen to other people discuss this topic.

Newsgator on the ipod touch

Last night I started using newsgator on the ipod touch and today I’ve come to the conclusion that I really enjoy this app. The reason for this is mobility. With the ipod touch I synchronise the feeds before I leave the computer and at my leisure I can read all the feeds and clip those that I think are relevant for later reading or to be shared. It’s also a nice way of feedreading because it’s small and practical.

Yael Naim at the Paléo Festival De Nyon

Remember the macbook air song? Recently I saw her perform at the Paléo Festival de Nyon and saw how much the crowd enjoyed the concert. I also saw how much she loves to perform. Just hear the crowd, let alone the music Rencontre - Yael Naim And here you can see that beaming smile, appears to be her trademark. This interview was part of a press conference I shot at the Montreux Jazz Festival a few weeks ago for musicorama.

7000 youtube views

Over the past month I have seen an increase of 7000 views in relation to the videos I have posted on youtube. The two events that helped make this a reality are the Geneva Lake Parade and the Paleo Festival. For the Paleo Festival scantily clad girls were an attractive proposition. As to the paleo it was taking video I had streamed live on qik and sharing it via a number of video sharing websites of which youtube was one.

Of live video streams and Paleo

I really enjoyed what Nicholas of K had to say in the interview we did last night for Musicorama.tv. He spoke about projects and how we can achieve anything we want as long as our mind is in the right place. I’ll let you know when that interview is online. This year Paleo has been a different experience from previous years because I went as a “radio/TV” person as opposed to a collaborator (work for free, get free food and free non alcoholic drinks as well as invites for friends), in the latter case you sleep so little it’s not unusual to take a week to recover.

From the touch

Testing the new touch wordpress application and this is the result. Fun but would me better with a full keyboard.

Over 16,000 views on youtube

In the space of two weeks I have gone from having just 11,000 views on my youtube channel to over 16,000, thanks mostly to videos I shot with the phone. I went to film the Geneva Lake Parade and then the Paleo. The Lake Parade generated several thousand views and already I’ve had over four hundred views to the Paleo Manu Chao and Tiken Jah… can’t remember the name. It’s not bad and it demonstrates the trend that I think is interesting.
