Mistakes

When Galaxus Sends You the Wrong Things

Many weeks ago I ordered something from Galaxus and it didn’t arrive when it was scheduled to. A few weeks ago I ordered one thing but instead got half a dozen things. I thought “Why do I have so many extras, before realising that the order was wrong. They sent me the order that someone else had made.

For a while I thought “What do I do, do I let them know about the mistake or do I tell them. In the end I let them know about the mistake. By eventually I mean within half an hour, not five weeks. They told me to send them a list of all the items I had received in mistake, and to send it back to them.

On Being Moral

Heavier than Expected

I ordered something online two days ago. I received a package today and I was surprised by how heavy it was. I opened the package. It contained over a hundred francs of things I did not order.

More Waiting

It’s frustrating not to get what I ordered.

To be Moral, or Devious

I found myself in a quandary. Do I report the mistake, or do I keep silent about it? Of course morality is how you behave when no one is looking, so I reported the mistake. Now I wait to see what they tell me to do. Part of me is thinking that I should offer to review these products, as blog posts, mentioning the company that made the mistake, and benefiting from it.

Luxurious Indifference - Watching Twitter Fail, as a Passerby

Since 2006 I have been using Twitter every single day for several hours a day, reading up to ten thousand posts per day. Every time it failed I would know about it. Weeks ago I decided to stop using Twitter, so when it fails I read about it in articles. I am happy that I took a break from Twitter because if I was still thinking of it as a serious tool, I would feel heart break every time it failed. I would feel sad about the limit to 1000 tweet views per day, I would feel sad about the disabling of Tweetdeck. I would feel sad every time something new breaks. There is nothing worse than being on a site that is declining, where you see functionality degrade and then disappear. The death of hope is painful. I follow the decline of Twitter, but I am not emotionally invested anymore

De-Confinement, In Name Only.

Until recently every time Switzerland moved from one phase to another the number of new cases per day increased slightly but with the latest phase the number of cases has increased by four or five times the number of new cases.

From March until mid June we could go to the shops with the recommendation that we should wear a mask but not the obligation. I wore a mask anyway. From Wednesday onwards masks will become obligatory for people visiting the shops, and on public transport. In theory the change is not that big. Wearing a mask to the shops and on publlic transport is not a dramatic change.
