ABYSS - North America's Highest Bouldering

A bouldering documentary about the pleasure of first ascents, keeping places secrets, the things to take in to consideration when speaking about new routes and of course the effects of the weather.

Speed flying from the Mont Gouter, one of the peaks near the Mt Blanc.

Speed Riding Mont Blanc from Didier Lafond on Vimeo. Speed flying is a combination of parapente and skiing. You take off from the top with the parapente and ski part of the way and fly for the rest of the way. This is an extreme sport but it provides some great images. This is a sport I edited footage from a number of times and it captures the imagination.

How GoPro Made A Billionaire

An interview with the founder of Gopro. There are some interesting and amusing moments. Fun to see how so little capital could build something that would grow to become so popular over a number of years.

Fun with water

This is a fun water experiment.

Jockstrap Raiders

The Jockstrap Raiders from Mark Nelson on Vimeo. A fun little animation.

A Trip to the Bottom of the Wall

Two friends of mine decided that they would go to the bottom of the wall at the dive site in Chindrieux. This dive site is on the Northern end of the Lac du Bourget in France one hour’s drive from Geneva. The classic dive, which I have done a number of times is a 40 meter dive along the wall. You see the rock overhanging and a blackness below. On previous dives we have been two groups.

Banff Mountain Film Festival

Doesn’t this make you want to rush back to the mountains and have some fun. There’s a lot of energy in these sequences.

Shoshala

A nice first ascent climbing documentary with a minimal production crew to produce a personal documentary about three climbers. I appreciate hearing this particular accent of course. Definitely worth viewing.

La Voie du Milieu

La Voie du Milieu is a nice documentary showing the challenge of placing the safety equipment for a series of new climbing routes. The documentary is in French and there is a nice combination of long shots and close ups. There is little use of helmet mounted camera work.
