Simplicity

The KISS Chronological Photo Library

I am in the final stretch of consolidation between Immich and my main library but I hit a snag. I have 197 GB of files in the Immich library to reconcile with 390 GB of images in my main library. Due to the Immich folder structure I can’t run a simple rsync command to combine the two. Option A with Jdupes Alone The first option is to ask jdupes to check the main library with the uploads folder.

To drive or Travel by Train

Tomorrow I will be heading to Gruyère. I saw that if I take the train it will take two hours but if I take the car it will take one hour. I am currently toying with the idea of suggesting that I pick up some people in Nyon and others in Fourmi, before going to Gruyère. There was a time when I would easily have done this. At that time I almost always took the car because that was the default habit.

Thoughts on the Casio A168 Watch Type

Recently I decided to re-explore Casio watches like the ones I had as a child. In the process I found that they’re minimalist, but great. They tell you the time. They beep every hour if you want them to. They wake you up if you set the alarm at the desired time. Some of them last for ten years, or more. I experimented with several models including the F 91 and the A168 series.

Of Casio and Smart Watches

Over the last five and a half years I have tracked every walk that I have been on, and I have tracked about five and a half million steps per year. That’s a lot of steps and a lot of going around in clrcles. Going around in clrcles makes tracking walks with smart watches/gps watches less interesting. That’s probably why I have been distracted by Casio watches. I haven’t been distracted by the 300-600 CHF watches.
