Nokia and the Sportstracker

A few weeks ago I was in Paris and when someone pulled out the iphone I commented that it’s a bureaucratic tool but wasn’t sure why. The n95 is a flexible fun phone to play with especially when looking at Sportstracker. It’s an application I use every time I walk around. I’m not alone. Over a million people downloaded the application. Eventually more than 1 million people downloaded the program and used it for sports the developers never dreamed of, such as paragliding, hot-air ballooning, and motorcycle riding.

From Mobile to train station display live.

If this isn’t a hoax then this is pretty fun. A guy claims to have hacked into the video display at a train station and is streaming live.

Direct message purging the lazy way.

Damon Aka. Dacort on twitter has come out with a new toy which meant that Meg Fowler deleted all her direct messages. Twitter is both public and private. Tweets are the public portion and DM are the private. Dacort came out with a Firefox tool that allows you to quickly delete tweets from everyone or individuals. I tried it earlier but I can’t bring myself to deleting everyone’s DMs at this moment in time.

Shifting away from early adoption

There’s no one in Europe using brightkite yet but I’m there and I see that no one is in the vicinity. That’s because there’s a huge amount of attention on what the US is doing and not much left on what Europe is doing. It’s a simple website to tell people where you are at all times. Of course there are a few projects like that in various countries and whilst it’s great for some people others feel uncomfortable.

Friends at Podcamp NYC

Looking through the feedreader today I spotted two friends, Phil Campell and Chrisian Payne here Maybe in a year or two I can travel to a number of these events and enjoy a little more travel once again.

I am 25,000 tweets old

Half the amount of tweets from a few months ago and far less than was my habit until now. This should be the normal twitter amount from now on. Don’t have as much free time for the social media anymore.
