The Myspace Documentary

Myspace is a social networking website whose binding factor is said to be music. This varies from person to person but that's what it's advertised as.

I see myspace as a putting together of both geocities and mp3.com to create a large social network. At the beginning you've got one friend, Tom, but as time continues you begin to build up your network with either friends on the same course as you, the same workspace or who appreciate the same music as you. Over time more as you add more and more friends you become more visible.

Within the documentary we worked on we interviewed people like Jack Penate who had recently had one of their songs become the world's hottest single of the week. The radio presenter points out that the music is nothing new to those who have already found that band through myspace.

The documentary is about twelve minutes long. Take a look
