TAKE MY PICTURE from GARAGE Magazine on Vimeo.
This short feature would benefit from interviews with the photographers rather than commentators commenting. How do the photographers think about their craft. How do those who are photographed view what is taking place. Why do they do it.
I would like to see more climbing documentaries where there is a timelapse of people making their way up. They look like ants rather than humans as a result. That part is 2 minutes and 20 seconds in.
A short documentary about web comics.
I quite like the period images from the beginning. The story begins in 1936 with steam trains and a moleskine notebook. We have a link to the 1936 Munich olympics before being brought in to the present.
WOWO - Caving in Papua New-Guinea / Spéléo en Papouasie [EN-FR] from Petzl-sport on Vimeo.
If Couleur 3 made television or video documentaries then they would be just like this one. Taking a light hearted look at the act of cave exploration it tells us about a recent expedition to Papua New Guinea.

Documentaries are sometimes invitations in to someone else’s life. The subject of the documentary trusts the person who is filming, to paint them in a positive light. In this case the topic may be seen as controversial in some countries and perfectly normal in others. As viewers we take a break from the realities we live in to experience that of others.

Documentaries are often about finding the right person. The right person is a person who is passionate about what he or she does. The person talks about their field in a number of locations and the documentary films what is going on in a number of locations. The point is that story telling by the talent is important but the visual story is also important.

Underwater travel
Canyoning, a sport you associate with warmer weather and low altitude canyons. In this case they go to Nepal, climb to 4200 meters before spending many hours going down a canyon. That’s quite an adventure. It looks as if most of the canyoning part was filmed with gopro.
A refreshing and different look at rock climbing. Mixing humour and the mountains in an original way.
